Board-on-Board
A board-on-board fence is our favorite type of fence to build because it allows us to problem-solve issues with the existing terrain and create a seamless look throughout the fence line.

About this Project
A board-on-board wood fence offers an excellent choice for your outdoor space. Its design not only ensures privacy but also enhances the aesthetics of your property. By overlapping vertical boards, it creates a sturdy and beautiful barrier, adding charm and security to your home.
The homeowner wanted to replace their old, rusty chain-link fence with a new Board-on-Board wood fence built with strong 2″x4″ backer rails. As always, the first step in the process was to schedule a free on-site estimate with the Primo Fence team. It’s always best to measure the proposed fence location, in order to get an accurate estimate. Within a week we were back at the client’s home to install their new fence.
One of the most difficult parts of this project was working on a custom panel that had to fit snugly around a big oak tree along the fence line. This task required careful planning and some creative problem-solving.
The oak tree was a significant feature in the landscape, so it was crucial that the fence design respected its presence. The custom panel needed to be shaped to match the tree’s natural curves while still being strong and stable.
To do this, the project team had to take precise measurements and really understand how the tree grew. They used their woodworking skills to create a panel that not only looked good but also allowed the tree to keep growing without any problems.
In the end, they did a great job, and the fence and the oak tree looked like they belonged together. This was a tough job, but it showed how dedicated and skilled the team was, and it made the whole project better.
